New Stills from ‘The Avengers’ Look a Little More Cheesy and a Little Less Epic

Captain America Leads Hawkeye and Black Widow in the fight against Loki.

Check out these new stills from the upcoming film The Avengers directed by Joss Whedon. When the first Iron Man film, starring Robert Downey Jr., first hit theaters, I couldn’t wait to see The Avengers film. Sam Jackson showing up at the end as Nick Fury was great. Then my desire to see the film started to fade when Iron Man 2 was released.

Now, after last year’s superhero disappointment, I’m a little more standoffish on seeing this team-up flick. Thor, starring Chris Hemsworth, was “meh” at best. Captain America: The First Avenger was an “okay” movie, but it served as little more than a prequel. Thankfully, Marvel’s The Avengers has nothing to do DC Comics’ Green Lantern film, which easily took worst superhero flick of 2011.

What I would like to see is a Hawkeye film that focuses solely ...

Are you starving for more Young Justice? Can’t stand the way Cartoon Network breaks up the schedule, rarely communicating when it will be back on the air? Fear not because the series is getting a new day and time-slot, and worldwide game publisher, Little Orbit announced today that they entered a licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (Batman: Arkham City) for a Young Justice: Legacy cross platform action RPG for the PS3, XBox 360, Nintendo Wii, and the Nintendo DS set for a release in early 2013. There was no mention of a Playstation Vita version.

Gamers will play out an original story that fits between Seasons 1 and 2 of the animated series. It will be written by Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti, the writers of the television show and ongoing comic book. They will be able to play a handful of fan favorite characters and ...

The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 9 Review: I Left My Left Leg in Georgia

Episode 209 Triggerfinger

After last week’s mid-season return, the talk that The Walking Dead moves too slow can be put to rest. That trademark crescendo of tension came back as Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Glenn (Steve Yeun), and Hershel (Scott Wilson) met some undesirables at a bar. Meanwhile tempers are flaring back at the farmhouse as Daryl (Norman Reedus) is detaching from the group, and Shane (Jon Bernthal) is not making any new friends. This week, AMC hopes to build on its cable TV record-setting 10.1 million viewing audience by keeping the foot on the pedal.

“Triggerfinger” powers viewers back to action as Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) fought off two walkers, successfully, and I’m wagering this struggle was the first Lori-centric scene to draw cheers, but were they rooting for the walkers or Lori? She has been a much-maligned character throughout the series, but Callies, had a Lady Macbeth moment, whispering ...

Incredible Super Hero Lego Displays at Toy Fair 2012

One of the coolest things about attending Toy Fair 2012 is seeing all of the giant displays custom made for the event and you can count on Lego always setting the bar.

Here’s DC’s trinity, Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman sporting their classic looks, not their new “52″ threads. These sat at the side of the Lego Booth. Each of these were about five and a half feet tall and were made up of a bajillion Lego pieces. You have to love the detail put in these Lego statues, from Superman’s pose to the curl in his hair. He even has his face scratched up.

Lego also had an equally impressive Hulk display that stood about six feet tall sporting the tan khakis instead of the trademark purple pants. Could this ...

In the world of Hollywood, sometimes all it takes is to do one thing very well to give others confidence that you can do the same on a much bigger scale. Take a look at how Marc Webb handled relationships in (500) Days of Summer. Someone felt he could bring that to Amazing Spider-Man. Most recently, director Josh Trank did such a good job on Chronicle that someone has begun a rumor that he can take that vision all the way to a Fantastic Four reboot. Now, whether or not Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is going to save the that comic book franchise, remains to be seen this weekend, but at least on a visual level, the film’s co-director, Brian Taylor is being considered for a movie adaptation of the long-successful video game franchise Twisted Metal.

According to Deadline, Sony is negotiating with Taylor on a seven-figure ...
